A patrol team of Comilla Forest Department seized a truck carrying 300 cubic feet of teak wood in Sadar upazila on Saturday.

During the drive, based on a tip-off , a team of the Forest Department recovered the teak wood logs worth Tk6 lakh from the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 8pm.
Comilla Forest Department's Forest Ranger Tosharraf Hossain confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said: "While a team of the department was patrolling the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, the Dhaka bound truck carrying the logs was stopped on suspicion. But the driver, and helper of the truck ran away leaving the truck behind in Chashara area."
"We filed a case against the unknown smugglers, and stored the seized logs at the forest department's office," he added.
