A teenager is arrested over an allegation of acid attack at Kapasia upazila in Gazipur.
Sagar, 17, was arrested on Saturday, for allegedly throwing acid on a HSC examinee from Aral G.L. High School and College in Kapasia.
Sagar’s brother and some friends are also alleged to be complicit in the incident.
According to the father of the surviving victim, Sagar and his associates threw acid at his daughter when she was on her way home, after her HSC examination.
Kapasia Upazila Health Complex emergency department doctor, Salah Uddin said: “5 % of the girl’s two hands were burnt by acid.
“She was sent to Gazipur Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for better treatment.”
Kapasia police station acting OC, Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the incident and said: “The student has a few burning bruises over her hands. She is under medical treatment.”
“The complaint of acid attack is being investigated and Sagar was arrested for interrogation.”
