Another Narayanganj gas pipe blast victim dies

Two other victims of the same fire incident died earlier

A man injured in a gas explosion recently in Narayanganj has died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Arifur Rahman, 35, died around 1pm on Wednesday, confirmed DMCH police outpost in-charge Inspector Bacchu Mia.

The DMCH burn unit’s duty doctor declared him dead. He suffered from 65% burns and was being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital, he said.

Arifur was from Gopinathpur village under Harirampur upazila in Manikganj. He is survived by his wife and a child.

“His body has been sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy,” Inspector Bachchu Mia told Dhaka Tribune.

Arifur was among four people injured in an accident on Monday, caused by a suspected gas pipeline explosion at a three-storey building in Bhulta area of Rupgani upazila in Narayanganj.

Two other victims of the same fire incident died earlier, while three other injured are still under treatment.
