At least two people died and four others were injured in road accidents in Tangail and Jamalpur districts.
In Tangail, a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle killed a madrasa teacher on the spot in Sakhipur upazila on Thursday evening, police said.
The deceased, Matiur Rahman, 48, was an assistant moulvi teacher at Kaharata Madrasa in the upazila.
Sakhipur police station OC Amir Hossain said the dead body would be handed over to his family.
In Jamalpur, another head-on collision between a three-wheeler and a truck on the Jamalpur-Tangail highway killed one and injured four others.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 10pm, when an oncoming speeding truck collided with the three-wheeler carrying passengers near Jamtoli area.
The deceased was a passenger identified as Nurul Hoque, 65, who died on the spot.
The injured were taken to Jamalpur General Hospital.
Jamalpur Sadar police station OC Md Salemuzzaman said: “The truck was seized but the driver managed his escape.”
