A Bogra court has summoned the accused before it
Two Bogra Awami League leaders have filed separate defamation cases against four journalists of vernacular daily Bangladesh Pratidin for publishing a news against yaba business in Bogra city.
Bogra district unit Awami League’s Joint Secretary Manjurul Alam Mohan and the city unit’s Convening Committee Member Abdul Mannan filed the cases of Tk5 crore and Tk4 crore, respectively, with the Joint District Judge Court 1 on Monday.
Acting judge of the court, Suraiya Shahab, summoned the four accused journalists of the newspaper and fixed April 18 for the next hearing in the cases.
The accused include Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, Publisher Moynal Hossain Chowdhury and Staff Reporter Sheikh Safiuding Jinnah.
