A tender has already been floated for the road construction works under the upgradation project while the decision to finalize the cutting and removal of the roadside trees has also been taken at exchange of views, presided over by Jessore Deputy Commissioner Md Ashraf Uddin, according to sources at the meeting.
The meeting was held at the District Administration conference room on Saturday.
Jessore 3 MP Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Jessore 1 MP Sheikh Afil Uddin, Jessore 2 MP Monirul Islam, and Roads and Highways Department Additional Secretary Belayet Hossain, among others, were present at the meeting.
It was informed at the meeting that no government official concerned or noted citizen has opposed to the proposed tree felling.
To make up the tree felling, the meeting has also decided to plant trees after the widening of the highway.
