BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al-Noman has demanded a judicial investigation over the recent attacks on indigenous villages in Rangamati's Langadu.
He made the demand in a press briefing held at the Rangamati district BNP office on Friday morning.
He said: “The Langadu attack is not a trivial incident and it definitely has a history. A judicial probe will reveal the secrets behind the attack and people will have confidence in such a probe.”

The senior BNP leader also accused the Rangamati district administration of non-cooperation while BNP leaders arrived at Rangamati to visit the people in Langadu who were affected.
“We could not visit Langadu as the district administration told us to go there at our own risk,” said Noman.
“At least eight people were killed in the area over the last few days and all of the murders have a similar pattern. The police and administration have a responsibility to solve this crisis,” the BNP leader said.
Noman also said peace in Langadu would never be ensured until the installation of a non-communal junction between hill-people and Bengali settlers.

BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Sukomal Barua, Organising Secretary of BNP Central Committee Mahbubur Rahman Shamim, and Organising Secretary of Tribal Affairs Colonel Manish Dewan, among others, were present at the briefing.
Many houses of the indigenous community in the area were vandalised and set on fire on June 2 after the death of a Bangali political leader named Nayan in Dighinala.
