Our Gazipur correspondent reported that a housewife committed suicide in the district’s Sreepur upazila over her extramarital affair. The deceased Shirin Akter, 32, from Pelaid village, developed an affair with her neighbour Kamar Uddin after her husband Kalachan Mian went to  Saudi Arabia a few years ago for work, leaving her and their two children, said local UP Chairman Sazzad Hossain Monir. Learning about the affair,  Kalachan returned home a few days ago and had a fight with Shirin, said the chairman. The fight led to Shirin hanging herself from a ceiling fan, said SI Shafiqul of Sreepur Model police station. Meanwhile, a 16-year old worker of Fu-Wang Group committed suicide after she was laid off from the factory five days ago. The deceased, Rina Khatun, was from Kushtia’s Chilmari Char village.
