'ULAB will be one of the finest universities in the country in the very near future'
University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) celebrated its 13th Foundation Day in the auditorium of its Dhanmondi campus on Monday, October 2, 2017.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the ceremony as chief guest, while Professor Abdul Mannan, chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, was present as a special guest, said a ULAB press release.
In his speech, the education minister said: “ULAB is one of the most successful universities of our country. I have experience of all universities, but ULAB does not focus on money-making – rather it focuses in quality education.”
Praising the ULAB Board of Trustees, UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan said: “ULAB will be one of the finest universities in the country in the very near future.”
ULAB Board of Trustees member Kazi Nabil Ahmed delivered the welcome speech, while ULAB Professor Emeritus Rafiqul Islam also spoke at the program and ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor Jahirul Haque delivered the closing remarks.
As part of the program, the education minister and the ULAB authorities cut a cake to celebrate the occasion.
In addition, a photo exhibition titled “ULAB: Dawn of a New Vision” was organised in the lobby.
Board of Trustees Members Juditha Ohlmacher and Taheerah Haque, ULAB Treasurer Professor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, ULAB Registrar Professor Akhtar Ahmed, deans, heads of the departments, faculty members, admin members, and students attended the Foundation Day program, among others.
