A battery-run rickshaw puller has been killed in a road accident in Jatrabari Rayerbag area of Dhaka.
The incident happened on Sunday morning.
The deceased is identified as Md Ali, 50, son of Mokin Ali from Mohisha village of Bederganj upazila of Faridpur district.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost Inspector Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter.
The deceased's brother-in-law Akter Hossain said: "Ali went out around 6am to see a doctor, for his eyesight problem, when he was hit hard by a pickup van.”
"On information, we rescued him and took him to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead around 7:30am."
