Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said all the corrupt people in the Awami League will be kicked out.

“There is no place in Awami League for the corrupt, extortionists, and intruders in the party,” Quader said at a discussion meeting of Dhaka South Awami League to mark Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 73th birthday at Awami League’s central office in Dhaka's Gulistan area.

He also unveiled the cover of a book on Sheikh Hasina, published by Awami League’s Information and Research sub-committee.

He said: “No one can carry on extortion using Sheikh Hasina's, and Bangabandhu’s pictures.”

Claiming that Awami League’s popularity increased through the ongoing anti-corruption, and anti-casino drives, he said Awami League will not take responsibilities of a few criminals’ misdeeds.

Quader, also the road, transport and bridges minister, said: “Awami League will not compromise regarding any drugs dealer, and gamblers.”

Criticizing BNP, he said, BNP's dream of a national government will vanish.

The minster furthered: “Awami League will answer if BNP tries to create anarchy.”
