Hundreds of Lions Club International members of its Bangladesh chapter, came together under one roof to celebrate their 32nd Annual Multiple District Convention 2019 on Saturday.
The convention was organized by the Lions Club International Multiple District 315 at Dhaka’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.
Members at the convention hoped to work towards development and to come forward with more integrated planning and leadership.
At the convention, they spoke about their activities in 2018-2019, and election of the multiple council chairperson for FY2019-20 to be conducted by the district governors. They also confirmed proceedings of the 31st Annual Multiple District Convention 2018, and audited convention accounts for FY2017-18.
Former district governor, Manjurul Alam Manju, presented the audited accounts for Lionistic Year 2017-18.
Council Chairman of Lions Club International (LCI), Aminul Islam Liton, presided over the convention and International Director, Qazi Akramuddin Ahmed, attended as special guest.
Among others, district governors, former district governors, and vice-governors, were also present at the event.
Lions Club International started as an organization on June 7, 1917 and its Bangladesh chapter was launched in 1958. It is the world’s largest non-political service organization with more than 1.35 million members in more than 206 countries and geographical areas around the world.
