Ready-made garment (RMG) workers have blocked a road in Mirpur demanding outstanding salaries.
The workers of Trust Trousers occupied the street near Mirpur 12 Bus stand Friday morning, disrupting vehicular movement in the area.
Pallabi police station Inspector (Investigation) Mezbaul Kabir said the protesting RMG workers were still on the street as of 1pm.
He said: “The owners were supposed to shift their factory but we are not sure if they have shifted yet.
“We are looking into the matter and trying to convince the workers to leave the street.”
Factory worker Ameena Begum said: “We worked yesterday [Thursday]. They cannot shift without paying our salaries.”
