Risila Binte Wazer, a Bangladeshi fashion model, died by suicide on Monday, according to Gulshan police.
Gulshan police station Officer-in-Charge Abu Bakar Siddique said the police suspect marital disputes may have played a role behind her death.
She was taken to United Hospital around 2pm on Monday afternoon where doctors on duty pronounced her dead.
The OC told the Dhaka Tribune, citing her family, that Risila was in a video call with her husband Imrul Hasan when she committed suicide.
Risila's mother and other relatives arrived at their North Badda apartment and broke down the door to recover her body.
The couple had a four-year-old daughter together.
An unnatural death case has been filed with the Gulshan police station in this connection.
Risila was working her undergraduate in English Literature from Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology alongside modelling and raising her daughter.
Born and raised in Chittagong, Risila started her journey on the catwalk in 2012.
