Three workers plummet to death in Bailey Road

On Tuesday afternoon, three construction workers fell to their death at a construction site in Bailey Road. The incident took place at a 10-storey building owned by Rupayan Group under construction across the street from Viqarunnisa Noon School. Ismail, a construction worker, told the Dhaka Tribune that three men were working on an elevator scaffolding when it collapsed at around 3pm. The victims were immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors pronounced them dead. The deceased have been identified as Md Joynul, 18, Jahangir Hossain, 25, and Md Sayem, 17. All three were natives of Gopalganj upazila in Sylhet. Their bodies are currently at the DMCH morgue. Assistant Commissioner (Ramna) Ehsanul Ferdous of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident.
