The clash took place in Moddhopara area under Gokul union on Friday morning
A Swechchhasebak Dal activist has been killed and three others injured in a factional clash in Bogra Sadar upazila.
The deceased, 26-year-old Sony, was a follower of Mizanur Rahman, president of Gokul union unit of the BNP volunteer wing.
He was stabbed during the clash in the morning in Moddhopara area with a rival group, led by the unit’s General Secretary Bipul, on Friday.
Sony later succumbed to his injuries at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital around 3pm.
The injured were being treated at the hospital.
Bogra Sadar police station OC Kamruzzaman Miah said Swechchhasebak Dal leaders Mizanur and Bipul had been at loggerheads for some time.
Bipul’s followers had reportedly attacked Mizanur’s supporters on Friday, he said.
Sony’s body was later sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
No case was filed till Friday evening while additional police personnel were deployed in the area to avert any untoward situation, said OC Kamruzzaman.
