Murder case accused killed in Jessore ‘gunfight’
A pistol, a round of bullets, and a magazine were recovered from the spot.

Miscreants opened fire at the members of elite force during a drive in near Refugee Para.

A murder case accused has been killed in a “gunfight” with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Jessore.

Deceased Babu, alias Pulsar Babu, 30, was accused in a number of cases filed with Jhirkargachha police station, including the murder of Awami League activist Abbas Ali.

RAB 6 Commander Major Zia said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a drive in near Refugee Para area early Sunday.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the miscreants opened fire at the members of elite force.

In retaliation, police fired back that left Babu dead while the others managed to flee the scene.

Meanwhile, two RAB members were also injured in the incident. They have been given primary treatment.

Besides, a pistol, a round of bullets, and a magazine were recovered from the spot.
