Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested two male nurses for their alleged involvement in leaking the question papers of a nurse recruitment test.

The arrestees are Ariful Islam and Saiful Islam – both senior staff nurses at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The duo was arrested from Dhaka University’s Fuller Road around 10:45pm on Thursday.

DB police recovered 11 sets of question papers from them that were meant for a recruitment test for senior nurses.

The test was scheduled for October 6 under the supervision of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) but was later cancelled over question leak allegation.

DB police’s (North division) Additional Deputy Inspector General Sheikh Nazmul Alam told the Dhaka Tribune: “We learnt that they leaked the question papers in exchange for a huge sum of money.”

A case has been filed with Shahbagh police station in this connection, he said adding that they are trying to find out if others are involved in this leak.
