Aniruddha Kumar Roy, the managing director (MD) RMM Group, has reportedly been missing from Gulshan area in Dhaka.
He was abducted around 4:30pm on Sunday, alleged his family members.
Confirming the news, Gulshan police station Officer-in-Charge Abu Bakkar Siddique said:“Some men identifying themselves as law enforcers kidnapped Aniruddha from in front of Union Bank’s Gulshan branch.”
The RRM MD was picked up in a microbus, he said, adding, the incident was being interrogated.
As of 10pm on Monday, there was no trace of Aniruddha while his nephew Kollol Hajra filed a general dairy with the police station earlier in the day.
According to the GD, three people posing themselves as members of detective branch (DB) of police picked up Aniruddha, who was accompanied by his chauffeur at that time, but the latter was released later on.
After being escaped, the chauffeur informed the matter to Aniruddha’s family members, who finally contacted police in this regard.
“We started probing the allegation and trying to recover the CCTV footage of the bank,” he said, adding that the DB also started finding out the missing person.
