The hearing on the case will be held on June 10

The case filed over the death of Nusrat Jahan Rafi has been transferred to Feni's Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.

The hearing on the case will be held on June 10, confirmed Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Inspector Md Shah Alam.

Feni court of Senior judicial magistrate, Jakir Hossain, decided on the date after the hearing around 12:45pm on Thursday.

The 16 accused in the charge sheet—along with five other arrestees—were produced before the court.

Earlier, PBI submitted a charge sheet to the court, seeking the death penalty for Sirajaddaula—the now-suspended principal of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa—and 15 others accused of murdering Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

The charge sheet was submitted to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Zakir Hossain, around 2:30pm on Wednesday.

Rafi's brother, Mahmudul Hasan Noman—who is the plaintiff in the case—told Dhaka Tribune: “We will go through the charge sheet to check if the main culprits have been reported accordingly.”

Nusrat was set on fire—on the rooftop of a Cyclone Centre at the madrasa she attended—on April 6; by some of Sirajaddaula's followers, after she refused to withdraw sexual harassment charges she had filed against him on March 27.

After she was set on fire, her family filed another case against eight people, including Sirajuddaula, on April 8.

The 18-year-old girl died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on April 10, after five days in treatment.

Finding the police negligent in the case, it was later handed over to PBI.
