The court also directed the school authorities to extent full assistance to the law enforcers if they want to probe into the allegations
The High Court has ordered to reopen within 24 hours the Lakehead Grammar School, which the government had shut down on charges of patronising religious extremism and militancy.
Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Ataur Rahman Khan’s bench gave the order on Tuesday.
On November 6, the government suspended the functions of the school’s Dhanmondi and two other branches saying it was inspiring religious extremism, building extremist organisations, and carrying out activities against the nation and its independence.
The court also directed the school authorities to extent full assistance to the law enforcers if they want to probe into the allegations.
On November 9, the High Court issued a rule asking the government to explain why suspension of academic activities of three branches of Lakehead Grammar School in Dhaka would not be illegal.
