ACC sues 2 DNCC councilors for amassing illegal wealth

The two cases were filed at the ACC's integrated Office-1 on Wednesday

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed cases against two councilors of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) for amassing illegal wealth worth over Tk56 crore between the two.

The two cases were filed at the ACC's integrated Office-1 on Wednesday.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has found evidence against councilors Habibur Rahman alias Pagla Mizan, and Tariquzzaman Rajib, of illegal assets worth over Tk 30 crore and Tk26 crore respectively.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed this to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday evening.

ACC Deputy director Gulshan, Anwar Prodhan, filed the case against ward Council Counselor-32 Habibur Rahman alias Pagla Mizan, accusing him of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk.30,16,87,33.  Separately, ACC Assistant Director Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury filed a case against Rajib for amassing illegal wealth worth Tk26,16,36,000.
