Bangladesh's youth will work as the most vital base for the nation's development.

Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister, Mustafa Jabbar, made the remarks addressing the press at the closing ceremony of a technology exhibition, "Innovation Showcasing 2019," arranged by the Post and Telecommunication Division at the GPO Auditorium on Saturday.

"They will be in charge to take the country forward, leading the fourth industrial revolution," he said.

Jabbar highlighted the necessity for innovation and said: "There was a time when our society did not feel the need for new inventions for hundreds of years,” reports UNB.

"But now we cannot think of the future without innovative ideas."

The minister said the global economy has seen major changes over the past decade.

He said: "The rate of innovation in European countries has slowed because they don't have a young population, but we (Bangladesh) do."

He expressed satisfaction with projects of BTRC, BTCL, Post Department, Teletalk, and other brands at the event, "Innovation Showcasing-2019."
