'During the meeting, Sheikh Hasina talked about the verdict on the 16th Amendment and its observation, but we are yet to take the decision of review'
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Law Minister Anisul Huq met with President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The top leaders of the ruling party Awami League went to Bangabhaban, the president’s official residence, around 7:30pm. The meeting continued till 10pm.
“During the meeting, Sheikh Hasina talked about the verdict on the 16th Amendment and its observation, but we are yet to take the decision of review,” Obaidul Quader told journalists after the meeting.
“The PM also described the flood situation in the country’s northern region to the president,” he continued.
In this regard, President Abdul Hamid advised the premier take necessary measures to meet the needs of flood-affected people.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune: “During the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina discussed the verdict and the problems that followed.”
Earlier, Obaidul Quader, who is also Awami League general secretary, met with Chief Justice Sinha on August 13. Quader and Sinha met with President Abdul Hamid the following day.
