A Dhaka court on Thursday placed two people on a one-day remand in a case filed with Shahbagh police station over stealing handbag of Dutch envoy from a programme at Dhaka University.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order after DB inspector Bahauddin Faruki, also investigation officer of the case, produced the two accused— Rubel, 20, and Shawon, 20—before the court with a seven-day plea for interrogation.
Earlier, detectives on Wednesday arrested the two suspects and recovered the stolen handbag of the Dutch envoy. Rubel, the main suspect, was nabbed from Shanirakhra area in the capital while Shawon was arrested from a shop at a shopping mall in the capital.

Later, a case was filed with Shahbagh police station on that night in this regard.
