8 killed in Brahmanbaria bus-microbus collision

Eight passengers of a microbus have been killed and three others injured in a collision between a bus and a microbus in Bijaygnagar area of Brahmanbaria district.

Seven of the deceased have been identified as- Habibur Rahman, his two sons- Abu Sufian and Md Kamran, their relatives Morshedur Rahman, Alin Hassen, Abdul Hannan and Mokter Mia, reports Bangla Tribune.

Bijaygnagar OC Ali Ershad said: “A microbus collided head-on with a bus of Ena Poribohon, leaving seven dead on the spot and three injured on Friday morning.”

Meanwhile, the vehicular movement on Dhaka-Chittagong highway was halted for half-an-hour due to the accident.

The OC said: “On information, fire fighters from Brahmanbaria and Habiganj went to the spot and began the rescue operation.” He said the bodies have been taken to Highway police station.

“The injured were taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where one of injured succumbed to injuries,” he added.
