Cat casually rides the subway by himself

Update : 11 Apr 2016, 03:45 PM
Commuting to and from work every day on public transportation can be a miserable experience, but imagine how much better it would be if a cute cat was your fellow passenger. Apparently, that can definitely happen if you reside in Tokyo. The streetwise feline in the previous tweet was spotted many times on the city’s Seibu Ikebukuro Line, reported the Tokyo-based news and entertainment site RocketNews24.catLooks like this cat is on his way home after a day of hanging out in [the district of] Ikebukuro," says the caption in the tweet above. People have noticed a feline on this line from 2013 at least, said RocketNews24. Though one can’t be sure if it’s the same cat, their photos do look quite similar. No owner seems to accompany the cat on its ride, which has led fellow riders to assume the cat gets on and off according to its wishes. Sometimes, however, it’s accompanied by a feline friend. Whether accompanied or not, the cat appears to be very well-behaved while on the subway. It never manspreads; rather, it curls up in a neat, compact ball, to ensure other passengers have plenty of room. So courteous. The cat does seem to get tired now and then, as cats tend to do, so it’ll occasionally drift off for a nice nap. Of course, as passengers are aware, sleeping on the subway, or any public transportation really, is never a good idea. Unless one is a cat. Then it’s a great idea. RocketNews24 has said, animals on public transportation are supposed to be kept in carriers. It seems, however, that Tokyo transit officers are making an exception for the cat. This cat, however, is not the only animal to have ridden on public transit. A dog named Paddy casually hopped on board a UK train last year.
