Alhaj Advocate Mostafizur Rahman Fizar, former minister of land as well as primary and mass education and president of the Dinajpur district Awami League, passed away on Sunday night while undergoing treatment for cancer at LabAid Hospital in Dhaka. He was 74 years old.
Fizar, who served as the member of parliament for Dinajpur-5 constituency for eight consecutive terms, had been battling cancer for some time.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a large number of relatives and well-wishers.
According to family sources, a funeral will be held at Parbatipur Adarsha College at 10:30am, followed by another at Fulbari Government College at 11:30am on Monday.
Another funeral will take place at his village home in Jam village, Fulbari, after which he will be laid to rest at the Rudrani family graveyard.
