BNP wins four seats in Moulvibazar

A total of 1,614,936 voters were registered across the district’s four constituencies, where 24 candidates contested

BNP candidates have won landslide victory in all four parliamentary constituencies of Moulvibazar.

Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Md Touhiduzzaman Pavel officially announced the results late Thursday night.

A total of 1,614,936 voters were registered across the district’s four constituencies, where 24 candidates contested. Voting was held at 558 polling centres, with an overall turnout of 51.27%.

For postal ballots, 23,736 voters registered. Of them, 16,862 ballots were received within the stipulated time, and 1,464 were declared invalid.

Moulvibazar-1 (Barlekha and Juri)

BNP candidate Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed Mithu won the seat with 98,282 votes with the party’s “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol. His nearest rival, Jamaat candidate Maulana Aminul Islam, secured 83,013 votes with “Scales” symbol.

Moulvibazar-2 (Kulaura)

BNP candidate Shaukatul Islam Shuku obtained 68,381 votes to win the seat. His closest competitor, Jamaat district Ameer Engineer Md Sahed Ali, received 53,458 votes.

Moulvibazar-3 (Sadar-Rajnagar)

BNP Executive Committee member M Naser Rahman won by a wide margin, securing 156,757 votes with “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol. His nearest Jamaat rival received 77,636 votes.

Moulvibazar-4 (Kamalganj and Sreemangal)

BNP candidate Md Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury reclaimed the seat after 35 years, securing 170,877 votes. His closest rival from the 11-party alliance, Sheikh Nure Alam Hamidi, received 50,204 votes with “Wall Clock” symbol.
