Health officials on Tuesday said they recorded 77 fresh cases of dengue outbreaks in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded 77 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8am on Tuesday," a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"Out of the 77 fresh cases, 39 were hospitalized in Barishal division, five in Chittogram division, four in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 12 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 24 in Khulna division, and one in Mymensingh division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year has claimed six lives and inflicted 3,384 people.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and afflicted 102,861 people in the country.
Besides, dengue claimed 575 lives and afflicted 101,214 people in 2024.
