Fifty Bangladeshi pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia during this year's Hajj, according to the latest Hajj bulletin. Of the deceased, 33 were men, and 17 were women. Among them, 35 died in Makkah, 14 in Madinah, and one in Jeddah.
Meanwhile, after completing the Hajj pilgrimage this year, a total of 54,323 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia on 127 flights so far. Among them, 4,313 pilgrims returned under the government management scheme, while 50,010 pilgrims returned under private management.
According to the Hajj Bulletin, as of Saturday, June 13, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has transported the highest number of returning pilgrims, bringing back 22,952 pilgrims.
In addition, Saudia Airlines has returned 19,285 pilgrims, Flynas Airlines has transported 8,380 pilgrims, and 3,706 pilgrims have returned through other airlines.
A total of 127 return flights have been operated so far. Of these, Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 58 flights, Saudia Airlines operated 48 flights, and Flynas operated 21 flights.
As part of healthcare services for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, Bangladeshi medical centres have so far issued 62,837 automated medical prescriptions. In addition, 27,665 services have been provided through the IT Help Desk.
Furthermore, 410 Bangladeshi pilgrims have received treatment at various hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Currently, 18 pilgrims remain hospitalized. Among them, five are admitted to Saudi National Hospital, three to Al-Noor Hospital, one to King Abdullah Medical City, four to Makkah Medical Centre, two to Hera General Hospital, one to Hayat National Hospital, and two to King Fahad General Hospital.
It is worth noting that this year's Hajj took place on May 26. From Bangladesh, 4,565 pilgrims travelled under the government scheme, and 73,935 pilgrims travelled under private management.
The first return flight for pilgrims began on May 30, and the final return flight is scheduled for June 30. The government and relevant authorities continue their efforts to ensure the safe return of all pilgrims.
