Sargis Alam, chief coordinator (Northern Region) of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), has extended his congratulations to his rival candidate Nawshad Jamir and the newly elected Member of Parliament for Panchagarh-2, Farhad Hossain Azad.
Speaking on the occasion, Sargis Alam said, “We contested together in Panchagarh-1. If the people give even a single vote more to a candidate, it is our moral duty to show respect. That is why I personally came to congratulate him and to be present during this moment of joy.”
On Thursday, around 1:30 am, Sargis Alam visited the conference room of the Panchagarh District Commissioner’s office to convey his congratulations to his rival Nawshad Jamir. Observers noted a cordial atmosphere among party activists present at the meeting.
Sargis emphasized the importance of mutual respect despite political differences. He assured that if the newly elected MP of Panchagarh-1 undertakes positive initiatives for the development of the constituency over the next five years, the NCP and the 11-party alliance would extend full support.
He also expressed hope that his party and activists would receive cooperation on reasonable matters. “Ultimately, our goal is the same – to advance Panchagarh. It is a backward district, and a more harmonious political environment will accelerate its development,” he added.
Further, Sargis Alam expressed gratitude to authorities and individuals who maintained law and order and ensured a peaceful election. “Apart from a couple of isolated incidents, I thank everyone involved in organizing a smooth election. InshaAllah, we will work together again for the benefit of Panchagarh and the country,” he said.
